September 14-October 7. Opening reception Friday, September 14, 6-9pm.

FOE hosts their first opening on Main Street with the estimable William Schaff.  Schaff is a Rhode Island based artist creating diverse work in painting, drawing, paper cut, scratchboard, diorama, mixed media and embroidery.  Schaff’s artwork has been sought by musicians and the tattoo crowd.  His work has appeared on albums for Okkervil River, Kid Dakota, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and more.  Schaff is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and has spoken on art at The Rhode Island School of Design, Amherst College and for the United States Air Force Academy.  His artwork frequently depicts images of suffering and loss, but there is also an underlying narrative of hope, kindness and grace.  Meet the artist at the opening reception on September 14th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
